Immunology and allergology

Laboratory of Clinical Immunology and Allergology of the Institute of Medical Biochemistry and Laboratory Diagnostics is specialized on the diagnosis of a wide range of immunopathological conditions.
The laboratory was founded in 1972 by Professor Fucikova, MD. Subsequently, Department of Clinical Immunology with its own Lab was found in 1990. Since 2004, the laboratory is the part of the Institute of Medical Biochemistry and Laboratory Medicine.

Routine part of the lab is focused on the diagnostics of immunodeficiencies, autoimmune diseases, allergies and other immunopathologies. The experimental part is focused on the area of ​​reproductive immunology, immunopathologies in gastroenterology and neurology and immunodiagnostics in molecular oncology. Laboratory is equipped by two flow cytometers, Agilent bioanalyzer and thermocycler, two IMMULITE chemiluminescent analyzers, nephelometers, analyzer for enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays NEXGEN or an automatic device for a preparation of specimens for indirect immunofluorescence.

The laboratory has many collaborators –Academy of Science Czech republic; ISCARE IBD Center, Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics, Department of Urology, Department of Cancer Biology and others.
