Laboratory of redox signalling

Laboratory of redox signaling is focused on the study of reactive oxygen species both in relation to the pathogenesis of the disease, as well as components of physiological regulatory mechanisms. In particular, it examines the role of non-phagocyte NADPH oxidases that produce superoxide for cell signaling.

The laboratory is equipped for enzymological methods, basic immunochemical assays, cell culture, some molecular genetic techniques and HPLC.

Estimations of parameters associated with the formation of reactive oxygen species, oxidative stress and antioxidant protection are performed in the laboratory. Assays of activity of NADPH oxidase, superoxide dismutase, glutathione peroxidase, thioredoxin 1, oxidized as well as reduced glutathione , glutathionereductase, hydroxyalkenals of lipids and other parameters are carried out by the laboratory.
