Diagnosis of sepsis laboratory

FOCUS OF THE LABORATORY:

The laboratory deals with the diagnosis of sepsis. Bacterial and fungal DNA in human K- EDTA blood is detected and identified using PCR methods. The PCR method has to be combined with other microbiological tests (e.g. blood culture) to get valid results.
