Laboratory of clinical immunology and allergology

GENERAL INFORMATION:

Laboratory of clinical immunology and allergology at General faculty hospital in Prague has more than 30 years of tradition. In 2004, it became an independent part of the Institute of medicinal chemistry and laboratory diagnostics under the leadership of prof. MUDr. T. Zima, DrSc., MBA. Roughly 20 000 samples and more than 250 000 tests are performed in a year. The laboratory performs a large spectrum of immunological analyses, fitting the needs of the hospital with a status of a consiliary unit for the whole Czech Republic, comprising:

- Basic immunological parameters (immunoglobulins, complement system, systemic and local inflammatory markers,
specific IgE),
- Autoimmunity testing (systemic and local autoimmune diseases),
- Monitoring of biological/monoclonal antibody treatment,
- Flow cytometry (blood, cerebrospinal fluid, bronchoalveolar lavage).
