Biochemistry & Pathobiochemistry 2

Subject Code: B81138 (winter semester of the second year)

The Biochemistry and Pathobiochemistry course for Dentistry program presents basic information on metabolic conversions in the organism in relation to the most significant and frequent diseases that a dentist can encounter, such as diabetes mellitus and disorders of blood clotting. More details are provided on digestion, defence against infection (inflammation), and metabolism of connective tissue, bones and teeth. A special attention is paid to metabolism of calcium and its disorders, and also to biochemistry and pathobiochemistry of oral cavity (saliva, dental plaque).
